Drive-by update
It is likely no surprise to you when I say I've been busy. I will be very busy now until the end of May but shall try to be a good blogger.
Here are some noteworthy items:
On Saturday I was running late to get to the office for a board meeting. Hurrying through my usual routine of shutting the door to the home office/sewing room so the dogs can't destroy my stuff, I managed to shut the door on Dorey's tail. Have you ever heard a dog scream with shock and pain? It is soul piercing. Even worse, I had only enough time to give her a few reassuring words and a hug before racing into the office. The Mr. was left to deal with the situation. Luckily, the tail is not broken. There was a small amount of bleeding but no permanent damage. Whew! She greeted me happily when I got home and seems no worse for wear. I won't do that again!
All quilting has been put away until I have more time available. Knitting, however, continues. To wit, this log cabin blanket of Fleece Artist Silk Stream. See the fugly brown/yellow/red colourway? I have swatched at least a dozen stitch patterns (not a word of a lie) before settling on this one. (No, I didn't choose the colour). This is a very easy knit-while-reading-several-hundred-blogs project.
Below is a photo of toeless socks, destined to be a Mother's Day gift. I might actually finish on time to get them in the mail so they arrive before the Day. She requested these as bed socks. Something about toes in bed socks make her feet hurt. I dunno. The yarn is a yummy Debbie Bliss merino/cashmere blend. Nuttin but the best for my Mom!
